I just replaced my clutch switch with a new one.  It cost me $12 from the dealer.  When I went to install it, instead of running the new harness in and around the bike, I unsoldered the old switch and soldered the end of the new switch on and replaced the old spring part of the switch with the new one.

The total time was 30 min and the bike starts every time now. I kept the rest of the new harness, because you never know.
